They call it an “information experience” and what makes it even more killer is that each piece of information that’s pulled into the presentation is an interactive reference tool. Qwiki delivers interactive video presentations that pull dynamic information from a myriad of sources. Today, you type something into Google or Bing and get a list of links that you troll through looking for information that suits your needs. Not to mention that during a recent financing round, one of Qwiki’s largest investors is none other than Eduordo Saverin – Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg’s one-time partner and the source for the movie, The Social Network. Oh, and when you win top honors at an event that introduces innovative tech companies to the world, well, I’m thinking people might want to start paying attention. Qwiki was introduced during a TechCrunch Disrupt session this fall and can potentially impact search in a big way. It's probably too early to worry too much about the SEO implications and even if you were it would be difficult to find out how to optimise for Qwiki - they want to keep their secrets to themselves.It seems there will be API or standard data format for transferring information to Qwiki. Early indications are that it may and I think Google would be a natural company to acquire it. It's a little hard to categorise, but I think it will be down to SEOs to learn how to represent their clients well within it.

So what is Qwiki? Qwiki describes its technology capability as "to evaluate and enrich any static text "€“ transforming it into a beautiful, interactive experience with zero human effort "€“ it can be applied to virtually any corpus of information. But it's already getting rave reviews and satisfaction ratings from users and I found it interesting to take a look. It's very early days for the service - it's in a closed alpha and launched around November 2010.
